Rose Codero of the Dominican Repulic is now on the cover of French Vogue!! News sources are going crazy attempting to give this cover the tag of "first black girl since.." stamp but its sad because as much as Rose Codero appears non white... shes still not a black girl. Now this is not to take anything away from the fact that French Vogue decided to go with someone of color (or Rose Codero's accomplishment). I applaud French Vogue's efforts. I am glad that they realized that marginalizing women of color from their magazines actually turned against them. They are now irrelevant and antiquated. Its ashame, but true. But there still needs to be an effort made to make putting a non-white girl on a cover more than a PR move to garnish sales. Anyway, Rose Codero is a Dominican beauty who found herself in a fashion world frenzy which will only up her stocks. Congratulations Rose and more covers to come!
