Print Goes Digital

Interview Magazine looks better than ever on the new iPad. With the iPad capabilities, Interview has the opportunity to feature behind the scenes video with the shoots. All of the photos are more vivid. I like that things are moving into a more digital direction. I will miss print, without a doubt, but I would love to see MosaMuse on the iPad 3.0 technology. Wouldn't you?

Pink- Nars Make Up

Nars just came out with this new Multiple Tint Tube for your lips, cheeks and eyes. As you probably are well aware of, you can use lipstick as blush, blush as eyeshadow, and eye shadow on your lips. So if you just want to buy one product in your right ton, pick up with Nars Tube. I think its a thrifty idea and it makes space in your make up bag.

MosaMuse- Fantasy

American born Wendell Lissimore was born in Utah an made his way to NYC to model in 06. He appeared in Italian Vanity Fair, V, and Out. He's a staple at Hermes shows and appeared in an Adidas ad campaign. For a while he was linked to the gorgeous Sessilee Lopez, and has even appeared on a cover with his young son. He looks like hes beginning to pick up steam and it looks like the time is right for him to start venturing into movies to make a name for himself.

MosaMuse- Apartment

Looking for things to spruce up your apartment. Here's some black and white decor to add to your list. Both of these items you can pick up at Urban Outfitter and probably wont compete with your current layout. Search through Urban Outfitters Apartment department to find statement pieces under $30. Mix low with higher end pieces to ad substance and flare.

MosaMuse Salutes- Lauryn Hill

From 'Doo Wop' to 'Just Like The Water' Lauryn Hill's lyrics are the best in the business. Her songs describe life journeys in beautiful harmony. Do you guys remember Galliano's 'Lauryn Hill' collection? She has been an inspiration so many people in many different industries and professions. Its ashame that so many people hung her out to dry, but MosaMuse never did. By the way, did you see the recent pictures of her? (i couldn't find one big enough to share)She looks AMAZING! Congrats Lauryn, your work is a muse to many generations to come.

Taking Steps- Estee Lauder

Estee Lauder actually featured Liya Kibede as the face of their campaign back in the day, which broke down HUGE barriers. Now they have Lui Wen, a Chinese born model, as the new face of their campaign. She has previously been the face of DKNY and Calvin Klein. Congrats Lui!

Bag Brat- Summer Travel Musts

You better have your bags in order! The MosaMuse favorite this summer (and last summer) is a Goyard bag. Above is a picture of a vintage Goyard going for over $25,000. My next step would be Alexandra Wang's new bag collection that is in the same realm of the trunk bags. Let your bags make the statement before you ever check in.

Makeup Fix- Summer Glow

Phillippe Chansel did this look for Chanel Iman in Rosa Cha's show. He said the make up he used was a wash of green and yellow, which opened Chanel's eyes and took away any pink from her eyes. He emphasizes to use colors on your eyes, but to stick to sheer irridescent colors. I personally love this look because it is super simple but still made up. A little gloss goes a long way!

Mexico Gets In Your Face

Vogue Mexico came out with a 3-D shoot! I think its super smart, and if print continues to do these little things, I may actually continue to buy. This is just as great as when V went 'glow in the dark'. Its best if they use their print to their advantage instead of thinking people are actually feigning for something to hold because its... 'personal'. Just put all my content on an iPad and leave me alone, right? Well that's if thy don't continue to make it fun! Shout outs to whoever came up with this... come work for MosaMuse after the Print Age.

MosaMus- Home

Alberta Ferreti created a silk organza apron. This is super cute considering I know no one who actually wants to wear an apron. But this is something cute to throw on during a dinner party to pretend you actually cooked the food your serving, and remained flawless doing it. Good thing there's delivery.

Fantastic Fantasy- Philip Huang

Philip Huang is an American born model that got his start in Milan at a Gucci fashion show. He then appeared in GQ. He has since walked in Phillip Lim, Valentino, Jean Paul Gaultier, Galliano, LV, Emperio Armani, D&G and Etro. His face graced the pages of Bloomies and Barneys catalogues, Vogue Hommes, Chinese Vogue and British GQ. I love that there is an Asian guy on the rise! Lets see what he does next!

Collision- Underground + Pop Culture

I remember going to London years back and just being in awe of art just lining the streets. It was by no means scribble, but actual graffiti art. One artist in particular is now commercializing the once underground phenomena under the pseudonymous, Banksy. Banksy began his career as a freehand graffiti artist and then began to use stencils. His art speaks on politics, ethics and culture. He is currently screening his movie " Exit Through The Gift Shop" and I'm eager to see it.

Flashback Iconic- Beverly Peele

Model Beverly Peele is a MosaMuse favorite! She debuted to the world in 1989 on the cover of Mademoiselle (and then appeared again 2 months later). Every big photographer shot Beverly- Bensimon, Bruce Weber, Meisel and Lindbergh within her first 5 years. She walked for Chanel and Versace and appeared on in German Cosmo, Seventeen, Vogue, Vogue Italia and British Vogue. She stopped modeling to give birth to a beautiful baby girl, Cairo. She still finds her way into the news to this day, and has also appeared in a few tv shows. Thanks Beverly for creating the way!

Eugenia Kim for Target

Seems like Target is the only fashion company still in business these days, as designers are all hopping on board to bring fashion to a group of people they would have otherwise ignored. We salute Isaac Mizrahi for beginning this wave of fashion, but I would be lying if I didn't say that I wished it would slow down so that the customers at least felt like it was somewhat exclusive. But I guess everyone needs to make there money. Anyway, a milliner I have always liked is at Target. Her name is Eugenia Kim and I first fell in love with her hats while interning at Michael Kors, we she did hats for his collection. Above is one of the looks for her target line, and all of the hats in the line are pretty similar. But if you check her website, you get to see what she's all about. She started out in Parsons and now can be found in 100 boutiques. Bloomies and Barneys also have her collections on sale.

Erykah Badu- The Individual Collective

'Groupthink'... what's that mean to you? I never liked the idea of 'group' because that meant that it was a loss of the individual. So many people get caught up in other people's thoughts, opinions, doubts and fears that it immobilizes them. People are stuck. People are asleep, because the collective is non progressive. If you get anything from my blog, and my highlights and shoutouts, I hope that you learn to search for the things that are unique to you, and have personal meaning. And more than anything search for your own purpose, your own opinions, your own feelings, your own feelings and live by them. At the end of the day, it's only you in your skin. Learn you and continuously develop. Take strides to establish the individual opinion. And support Erykah... cuz I said so! :)

Pixels- Marcus Ohlsson

MosaMuse loves the work of Marcus Ohlsson. It. Is. Amazing. Marcus is a Swedish born photographer that is steps away from a take over. Velvet, Tush and Sisley have had their paws all over this photographer, and I don't blame them! Above is his latest shot for Velvet and it is so stunningly beautiful... go pick it up! I love distant shots with the girl off center, and I like that he captured her looking a tad off balanced. Wonderful. Best of luck Ohlsson, I think everyone is ready to see more!

Fantastic Fantasy

I'm starting this new 'fantastic fantasy' series to highlight the males in the industry. I know you girls have been dying to see more men on this site. So now you can scope them out every Tuesday. With that said, here is David Gandy. Gandy is a British born model known as the face of Dolce and Gabana. Dolce Gabana is his first and only runway show, and he has graced the pages of VMan, L' Otimum, Harper's Bazaar, and Spanish Glamour. He was the face of Dolce and Gabana, Ermenegildo and Zara. He is known for his dark hair and striking blue eyes, and like most other male models- the body. I'm ready to see him transition into acting, preferably in some classic vintage type of film. Let's see what he does next.

Urban Nomad- Designer Yeohlee

Malaysian design Yeohlee believes "clothes have magic". I agree. She is known for her clothes' functionality and practicality. Each of her pieces can transition between seasons and occasions. I love how her looks are extremely detailed but super clean and classic. She began her career at Parsons School of Design and has been designing since 1981. You can usually see her works exhibited at the Met. Yeohlee is an undermentioned gem!

Item of The Day

I love this porcupine chair. I found this picture scrolling through my daily blogs, so I don't have the info on who made it. I'm pretty sure its not functional, but its a great conversation piece. You know how people have that one room no one sits in? Well instead of that stupid white couch (who does that anyway?) use avant garde pieces. Its a great way to let people know they aren't invited to sit, and even better way to create a mini gallery in your place.

Karl Lagerfeld collaborated with Coca Cola Light for one of the best special bottle Coke has ever made. It comes with a collectors box and discrete bottle opener. Its so perfect. Don't you want one? The only thing I would like more is to have Karl switch up his style and rock a completely different uniform to throw everyone off for a few weeks. Wouldn't you?
