My friend just left me a message...requesting that I post these pictures if I hadn't already. I remember this "Barbie" edition of Italian Vogue from a couple years ago, but I failed to post anything on it. I first laid eyes on it in a magazine store in NYC, wrapped in plastic. I love reading magazines from overseas because they focus more on creativity and less on celebrity. They also display more diversity among their models. The magazine in the forefront of this, as you all know, is Italian Vogue. They have done an all black issue, curvy issue, (Asian issue is in the works I believe), and even this black barbie issue. And I think its great that they tap into segments of the fashion world that aren't being highlighted!
Pictures of these barbies took me back to when I was a child and my Aunt would buy me collectable Black Barbies that I wasn't allowed to open. I must confess, I opened it! And I didn't even play with barbies lol... just the allure of this barbie in the silver packaging with her emerald dress. Might not be worth as much, but apparntly I never forgot it! Thanks Auntie! (She reads my blog! :) )
Follow more stories about me and my 'terrifical' life experience lol @MosaMuse. ALSO, Thanks ladies for all the kind comments and emails lately. Very encouraging!
