Egypt.

I hope they can get to a point where the beauty is restored. But sometimes struggle and conflict can produce the most beautiful outcomes. I pray them peace. And I pray them love. Most importantly, I pray them a quick and fair resolution. Prayer supersedes politics.

Joan Smalls is Taking Off

Here is one of my favorite shots of Joan Smalls. This is in Vogue Paris Feb 2011. She looks great in Donna Karan. Her new agency has really gotten her a TON of work in the past year. Keep it up.

Sudance Awards 'Like Crazy'

Sundance Film Festival (and the entire internet) is buzzing about ''Like Crazy'', a movie about a long-distance love affair. "Like Crazy" was awarded the grand jury prize for U.S. drama. The leading actress, Felicity Jones, was also given a special acknowledgment as an actress. Felicity Jones is a British actress who has previously scored a role opposite of Ricky Gervais. Because of all the buzz around this movie, I'm putting it on my list as a must-see. I guess you should too.

Ladies, TAKE NOTES- Make A List Of WHAT YOU WANT!

Hi Ladies,
I just wanted to take time to make you think. I'm always throwing up products and beauty advice because I really think taking a pride in your appearance helps your self-esteem and is the catalyst for taking pride in other areas of your life. And fashion is GREAT! Its glittery, its fun, its fantasy, and its (sometimes) FAKE. And what I mean by fake is that its superficial. So as much as I want you to love fashion, beauty and luxury, I want you to LIVE that luxurious life that you dress for. The best way to get there is to outline WHAT YOU WANT and think about HOW TO GET THERE. The dreaming phase must end at a point, and it becomes a time of DOING. You can start working towards your dreams at ANY AGE and at any financial point in your life. What determines your success is your DETERMINATION. So lets begin our preparation so you can get yours.
1- Make a list of things you want out of your life.
2- Realize, and truly believe that you can ACTUALLY get them.
3- Prioritize your list and consider the reasons behind the things that you want. WHY do you want marriage? WHY do you want move to London? Determine the reasons behind your desires and determine if those reasons are sincere.
4- After looking at your at your motivations and prioritizing your goals you get to the step that is most important. DETERMINE HOW TO GET WHAT YOU WANT. Most people dream and dream and dream and dream but fail to THINK of how you can put one foot in front of the other. Pick up a trade magazine in the area you want to pursue, search for guidance in that area you are interested in pursuing, begin to sit down and make of a plan of action, and surround yourself with like-minded people.
5- STICK TO YOUR PLAN. Often, people abandon ship right before they get to their reward. Or, they abandon it 3 days later. You can't achieve your goal without working towards it daily.

Begin to create an image of who you see yourself as. What you see yourself doing. What you see yourself having. But think about it HONESTLY. Don't tell me you want to go to college, get a great corporate job, marry and have children. Because that's not YOUR DREAM that's a dream that was TOLD TO YOU. Live YOUR LIFE. And you live your life by DOING. Get to work, you're one month into YOUR YEAR.

Flashback Iconic- Helena Christensen

This Danish model is now mostly retired but had a HUGE impact a few years back. Quick fact, Helena is also the cofounder of Nylon. Helena appeared on Harper's Bazaar, Vogue, Dazed and Confused, Esquire, British GQ, British Elle, French Elle, Marie Claire and many more. She was the face of Gianni Versace and Cover Girl. This supermodel is iconic and was huge during the time when models were models and had a huge impact on culture. Above are a few of my favorite shots.

You H&M Look Of The Week- "The Syreeta"

Ok, so I basically own this outfit. Its not from H&M, but now that I see the prices I wish it was. Its great for a nice dinner. It keeps you feeling stylish and sexy but the colors really tone it down. In this outfit you are definitely unapproachable, so don't go out in sunglasses and fur if you are trying to spark conversations. Enjoy your H&M look for less.

Wrap It Up

Printed Scarves!! These are great transition pieces into the spring. I love a fun printed scarf. Listen ladies, they are a great trick when you didn't get enough sleep. If you put a bright color scarf under your face, its like having a face lift. Seriously. Trust... I do it everyday to counteract the bags. aahhhh the dreaded bags!!! I gotta get some rest soon.

Jean Paul Gaultier Couture

Images via Style.com

I have ALWAYS loved Jean Paul Gaultier. When I was younger, I think it was his collections that drew me to fashion. They are so FUN and detailed and beautiful... and never ever stuffy. Jean Paul Gaultier represents FASHION to me. Fashion was not created to be stuffy and stuck up. It was created to be enjoyed. I absolutely enjoy his collections and I love how he always has a finger wave! Check out the hair. Its like every single culture is represented in his couture line. I love it love it love it love it. It gives off such fantasy and beauty. I know I'm super excited over this, but my point is just that this is just what I think about when I think of fashion. Jean Paul Gaultier is my muse.

Lauryn Hill performed in Utah in this outfit. I personally think she is channeling the new 70s theme really well. And as you all know, I love whatever she does. What do you think about her outfit?

Before There Were Shoes

Before there were shoes, we filled our closets with these things. So I decided to give a little shout out to our past. I dont think shoes/clothes will ever get old. But the memories attached to our first loves (dolls) supersede all the rest. My point is, start making memories. BTW, I never went ANYWHERE without my Ernie.
