Worldview- French Model

David Agbodji is the new face of Calvin Klein. Agbodji was born in France and signed with Request Model Management in NY. He debuted on the Calvin Klein runway in Milan, both opening and closing the show. Known for his lips and body, Klein appeared in GQ Style twice and has since shot for Steven Klein. MosaMuse is excited that Calvin Klein kept consistent since Djimon. We love how they transformed Agbodji into a statue wearing a suit. This is a great ad and a post for the ladies! Enjoy...

Contrast- i LOVE Clothes

LOVE magazine released its new cover, with Jeneil Williams gracing the front page! LOVE is a fashion mag, but it seems they have an issue with clothes. Well... we all know pictures of bare skin sell the most items. Anyway, I am so happy they put Jeneil on the cover! Jeneil is a Jamaican model who you may remember from the Benneton ads. I personally love her complexion and her brows, but she is known for her long legs and full pout. She has appeared in a feature in Italian Vogue and a spread in Teen Vogue. Go pick up a copy! I'm a huge fan of LOVE, my bf bought me my first issue (how cute, right?). Congrats Jeneil!

Pink- Barbies!

Again, I stress that I never played with Barbies growing up. But ever since the Gaga Barbie, I've been in love with these miniature plastic supermodels. To launch Barbies newest collection, 12 members of the CFDA created looks for Barbie. Above are Phillip Crangi and Rachel Roy's designs. Cute right?

Collision- Adriana Lima + Clothes

More isn't always a good thing. Especially when it comes to Adriana Lima wearing more clothes. The Brazilian Victoria Secret model known for her pouty sex-appeal was featured in Givenchy's '09, and just occurred to MosaMuse that this was her. (Gasp!...eeehhh) Why Givenchy? Lima is a MosaMuse favorite, and probably everyone's favorite 'sexy' model, but this picture can go straight to the recycling bin. I guess clothes do her no justice. Playing the dark, Calvin Klein model, is just something that I prefer not to see her do. Lets keep her in her two pieces and give her a pair of wings... Please! By the way, she gave birth to a baby girl named Valentina in November. I'll keep you posted...

Gloss- Italian Vogue

Sessilee Lopez is featured in a spread in Italian Vogue. She is photographed by Steven Meisel, again. They are becoming a really great team. Last month Meisel created his faux online pix with Lopez and I'm loving that shot. By the way, Meisel photographed Sessilee for her Italian Vogue cover shot, which she credits as what launched her career. They are a great tag team and Ms. Lopez is a MosaMuse fav!

Circus- Queen of Snakes

McQueen's Spring 2010 ad campaign has been released to the wild. His out of this world collection is illustrated perfectly through this campaign. Raquel Zimmerman, a Brazilian model and muse for Karl Lagerfield was chosen for the shot and she looks great. Could you have posed with the snakes??

Destined- Illustrator/Graphic Designer Natasha Torrence

Illustrator and Graphic Designer Natasha Torrence is fresh out of college and ready to take the world of design by storm. She emphasizes that there is no right or wrong way to express one's self when it comes to illustration and design. Natasha is currently working on creating restaurant menus and packaging for a gourmet food company. The above illustrations are straight from her sketchbook and they are a MosaMuse favorite! What makes her art most compelling is that she combines graphics and hand done art. She is planning on creating some graphics for MosaMuse, and I will keep you posted! Her site is coming soon and I will be sure to lead you all to it in an update....

Unconventional- 'The Supermodel'

The MOMA features painter Marlene Dumas' work entitled "The Supermodel". Dumas is a South African artist who does her work out of Amsterdam. This particular piece caught MosaMuse's eye because it was an ironic take on who a supermodel is and how they feel. To begin, the picture is not of your standard supermodel (or at least who you would think of when you think of one). The eyes speak sorrow and its a hairless figure. It makes someone wonder their definition of beauty and where it derived from. The fashion industry has become really blah with the same girls in the same poses, and a lot of talk has picked up about race and weight. I am interested in seeing where this leads the industry. What's your thoughts? Remember the MoMa is free today from 4pm-8pm. In particularly check out some more of Dumas' paintings. She has some very nice work.

Circus- Alexander McQueen

Walking art produced by Alexander McQueen in his FW 09 show. We love how dramatic his pieces are, but yet they're insanely edited and refined. To be completely honest, MosaMuse would love it if everyone dressed like this all the time! This was one of our fav McQueen shows. The last McQueen show (s/s 10) had shoes too dramatic for us to even notice the clothes and the models looked so incredibily stiff and terrified of falling. McQueen you are a MosaMuse fav!

Over Exposed- Slippery Territory

Another Calvin Klein ad is out! And I must say, since I've been a little one, no other fashion company can compare with Calvin Klein's ads... ok maybe Guess did one season. Anyway, Eva Mendes puts it all out there... and we love her for it! A beach bench never looked so good. This ad is hot. Jean shorts for me this summer!... and pass me the baby oil.

Hidden- Jeisa Chiminazzo

Brazilian born Jeisa Chiminazzo began her career on Marc Jacob's runway. She has a well established career, yet many of you never heard of her. But you probably recognize her face from Jill Stuart, Emperio Armani, and YSL cosmetic ads. Shes appeared in Sports Illustrated and can be found in Victoria Secret catalogues. She has practically walked the runway for every designer out there. I love how versatile her look is and how carefree the majority of her photos are. Above are images from French Vogue, Italian Flair and Vogue Brazil. I like her look, she runs in the right circle (friends w/ Kate Moss), and I think she has a quiet appeal. I just want to know if I'm the only one unfamiliar with this muse...? I think shes one of those treasures that only her industry discovers.

Pixels- Size Matters

V Magazine's new size issue is prepped to hit stands. On the cover is Gabriel "Precious" Sidibe. In the issue, Terry Richardson does a side by side comparison between a 'standard' model and a plus size model. This is one of those issues where it allows normal size girls to have a place to call home, but in a month it will be back to itsy bitsy girls... just being honest. The same hype surrounded the black issue in Italian Vogue. But you can't knock it. This is a step in a positive direction and allows young girls of all shapes to feel secure. Now... if there was just a magazine the encompassed everything, all the time... wouldn't that be nice? No worries, MosaMuse is set to launch soon...

Fresh Face- Georgie Baddiel

Born in Burkina Faso, Georgia won Miss Africa before heading to London to sign with Storm. She walked for top designers including Rick Owens, LV, DVF and Marc Jacobs. Shes appeared in Biba, Essence, Russian Vogue, Interview and i-D. She is pretty versatile and is known for her long legs and an innocent smile. I personally think what is special about her is her ability to pose and use her length to create interesting angles.

Collision- GaGa + Barbie

Refinery29.com had a great discovery the other day! Some random guy has been creating Barbie outfits for his Barbies. My personal fav is the kermit coat. This only makes me woner what this guy actually does for a living? Is he over forty? And most importantly, can I have one?

Hidden- Hooded Treasures

I'm completely in love with the hooded vests and open toe flat boots from Balenciaga's Spring 2010 collection. Its perfect for those days you want to make a quick trip out but you don't want to do your complete face and hair. Finally, a structured hood that keeps you looking effortlessly chic (I'm so over this word 'chic'... from now on its replaced with 'muse'). Pair it with a strong lined eye and your good to go. By the way, I'm completely into these boots. Thumbs up on this carefree, high fashion apparel.
